The new bike tour takes you to modernist buildings that were realised in 1920 with the founding of the Wedding district on the northern edge of the old inner-city residential quarters between Badstraße, Müllerstraße and Volkspark Rehberge. Alongside today's World Heritage housing estates are remarkable testimonies to early industrial and working-class culture and fantastic green spaces. Local architects such as the little-known city architect Friedrich Hellwig, the renowned offices of Mebes/Emmerich and Jean Krämer contributed to the liveable quality of this area.
